SPLÜIA EXPERIMENTAL INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT
The aim of the project was to design an experimental interior design project for a spluia in historical valle of Val Bavona in Ticino, southern Switzerland. The students were expected to create an experimental interior atmosphere design, which answers the minumum human needs -just a bed and kitchenette. This area was abondened in 1500s as a result of though climate conditions. Today, the setlements and spluias in the region are still untouched and surrounded by the nature. The idea of our project was to integarate space with the nature. Air, light and water was the three main elements in our design to create an interior atmosphere that is closely tied to its own environment. We created a space for a performance artist, where s/he can escape from urban life and meditate in the middle of nature. We applied this concept in spaces A and B. In these spaces, inspired by the reflection of light on the water, we designed lighting elements on the raised floor, which changes colors with movement. We use semi-open space C as a bridge to connect enclosed spaces A and B with nature.
